SJ Cafe
A bilingual website and digital menu, built for the phone in a customer’s hand.
A concept build for a café in Al Shahama, Abu Dhabi: the full menu with photos, in English and Arabic, opened from a single QR code.
BARQI is a new studio. We show only work we have actually designed and built, and every project is labelled for exactly what it is.

The idea
Show a café what its menu could do on a phone.
SJ Cafe is a café in Al Shahama, Abu Dhabi. We built this concept to show the owner what a proper website and digital menu could look like: photo-led, fully bilingual and easy to use at the table or on the way.
It is a working demo, not a static mock-up. You can open it, switch between English and Arabic, add items to the cart and walk through the pickup checkout.
What we built
A complete menu experience, from first tap to pickup.
A home page that sells
A hero slideshow and a “Popular at SJ” row, so favourite items are the first thing customers see.
The full menu, with photos
Every category in one place, with a photo for each item.
English and Arabic
One tap switches language. Arabic gets a full right-to-left layout.
A cart
Customers add items as they browse, then review everything before moving on to pickup details.
A pickup checkout
Pickup or Car Pickup (with car model and plate number), an optional note, and payment in cash at the café.
One QR code, mobile first
A single code opens the whole menu, designed for the phone before any larger screen.
Screens
Every step a customer would take.
The real SJ Cafe demo on a phone: browse, choose, add to the cart and reach checkout, in English or Arabic.

Order steps
Concept / Showcase. Screens captured from the live demo; it does not take real orders.
Why this design
Designed around how a café runs.
One QR code
One code for the whole menu, in both languages: one thing to print, one link to share.
A photo-led menu
People choose food with their eyes first. A photo for every item makes the menu easier to browse and easier to choose from.
Arabic as an equal
Arabic is not a translation layer. It has its own right-to-left layout, set as carefully as the English.
Pickup that fits how people order
Car Pickup follows a familiar Gulf habit: order ahead, pull up, collect from the car. The checkout asks only for what the café needs to find you.
Live demo
Open it on your phone.
The best way to judge a digital menu is to use one. Browse the menu, switch to Arabic and try the pickup checkout.
About this project
Concept / Showcase. BARQI prepared SJ Cafe as a concept to show the café’s owner what a bilingual website and digital menu could look like. It is shown here as an example of our design and build work, not as a client result. The checkout is a pickup order flow with payment at the café; no payment is taken online.
